Generosity

Here's an article which reflects on the way in which we donate money, questioning the generosity of the Australian nation.

Also an interesting radio conference on this topic was on Radio National. Transcript will probably be available here, sometime soon.

Sounds like a reflection of the Pharisee in Luke 18. Maybe people should start doing good things for the sake of doing good things instead of wanting to earn brownie points.

It made me think, as I enter the workforce in a professional sense, the attitude in which we should be giving money to those less fortunate or more needy.

Marketing strategies

Just reading various businesss strategies. Noticed Sanity's parent company, Brazin Ltd. gave this interview on how the marketing strategy of Sanity is, or was:

The Sanity concept grew out of a perceived market demand for a new type of music store combining the "street wear" fashions, as seen on the popular music clips, with recorded music products. The first Sanity concept store was at Doncaster Shopping Town in Melbourne, and was further refined when "street wear" fashion was deleted from its product range.

So, looks like they had an idea, and then dropped it.

Maybe it's a good thing that they don't make it so easy for people to dress like rock stars anyway.
