Hippy Land

So if you haven't heard, I'm meant to be going to Ballina on August 22nd, not far from the Doobie Capital of Australia, Byron Bay. At the rate it's going, it's likely I'll be there until Christmas.

The funny thing about Ballina is that a lot of web-based maps refuse to get it right. Whereis.com.au (Telstra/Sensis' map service) seems to want to put the southern roads of East Ballina half in the water. Multimap (some random outfit I've never heard of before) seems to want to put the entire South Ballina Beach Road as a jetty sticking out into the Pacific ocean. Thankfully, Microsoft's MapBlast seems to get it relatively right. A few coastlines are a few hundred metres off into the Richmond River, but I can live with that.

Hopefully it won't be as wet as the maps are telling us over there.

Seems that everyone's gone a little crazy over The Kingdom of Loathing. It's an RPG, but it's a funny RPG.
