Thousand steps*

* Conditions apply.

In the Dandenong Ranges, there's a track called the Kokoda Trail. This trail has a rather long and steep flight of steps. Despite the harshness, apparently a few mothers had taken this trail and found it reasonably challenging. So we were expecting it to be a cakewalk.

It wasn't as easy as it looked.

We took Uncle Francis along. We didn't need to carry him.

I only counted about 760 steps. I want my money back.

Media

It's funny.

At primary school, my best friend's dad was somewhat of a high flier. He was a really nice guy. When I saw the movie "To Kill a Mockingbird", Gregory Peck's depiction of Atticus Finch actually reminded me of him.

Today, I am reading the political pages of newspapers trying to fling dirt.

If I didn't know this guy, I probably would have believed the media.

Storm

I blogged about a storm fairly early on my trip to Ballina.

We had a much bigger storm a few days ago. It was a fairly hot day, but in the late afternoon the storm clouds started to roll in.

I've never seen green storm clouds before. It wasn't just a pale blue-green colour, it was fully dark green, about the same colour as a pine tree or the Highvale uniform. (Do they still wear green? I don't remember now.)

Apparently green clouds mean hailstones. And hail it did. They were about the size of ice cubes. We parked all the personal vehicles under the limited cover we had, but all the rent-a-cars and hire vehicles were left to weather the storm.

Fried Rice

Made fried rice yesterday. Sesame oil is awesome.
